As children grow and enter the church through their Baptism, we encourage families to read and talk about the Bible Narrative. Learning centers around knowing the story and then beginning to apply the story to life. In younger years, we augment learning and study through worship, Sunday School, and additional opportunities to grow in faith and understanding.

SUNDAY SCHOOL

We welcome all children who are three years old (and potty trained) through 6th grade to join us for Sunday School. Classes meet at 9:30am in the 2nd floor classrooms every Sunday from the beginning of September through May.

SEEDLINGS & SPROUTS

Want to plant seeds of understanding to help your children sprout up in their faith? We do too! Seedlings & Sprouts ministries are interactive classes aimed to familiarize youth with the stories of the Bible. Younger students begin with a basic understanding of Bible stories and older students expand on that knowledge to make connections with the stories in with their daily lives. To register your student(s), please contact Pastor Matt Bahnfleth.

  • Seedlings is open to youth age Kindergarten through 2nd grade and meet the 1st & 3rd Tuesday of every month from 4-5:30pm.
  • Sprouts is open to youth age 3rd through 5th grade and meet the 2nd & 4th Thursday of every month from 4-5:30pm.

FIRST BIBLE CLASS

Students in 3rd grade and older are invited to participate in First Bible Class, which provides students the opportunity to begin applying their knowledge of Bible stories. The class teaches students how the Bible is put together and how to navigate it, as well as exploring the tools for daily reflection, devotion and activities to spark faith in students they can put into practice in their walk with Christ. The class is typically held in August, prior to the start of the school year.

FIRST COMMUNION CLASS

Holy Communion is a central sacrament at the heart of the Lutheran faith, symbolizing the forgiveness of sins and strengthening of faith. First Communion Class teaches youth the meaning and significance of Holy Communion, including the presence of Christ in the bread and wine. Classes are offered in the spring to those in 3rd grade and older. The class typically meets during the Lenten season and concludes with a celebration of First Communion during Maundy Thursday worship.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

Vacation Bible School is a summer event for youth in our community to share & grow in the Word of God through games, crafts, skits, music, worship and classroom learning. A program is held at the conclusion of the week as a way for students to share how their lives have been impacted by the week’s activities. This event typically takes place in June. More information will be shared at the beginning of May. Vacation Bible School is open to youth age 4 years old (and potty trained) through students entering 6th grade.

YOUTH MUSIC MINISTRY

Youth Hand Chime Choir provides youth the opportunity to participate in the church through music.
